A strawberry called Teresita.

I received the following email recently. It’s annoying because my ISP has been blocking dodgy emails to such an extent that some legitimate emails are not making their way through to me! Yet, this juicy morsel managed to land on my virtual hall carpet. I’m kind of glad it did, it’s a good laugh and a bit fruity…

Hi 🙂 I am Teresita

I’m your strawberry. A hottie from your desires!

I could show you pictures of mine if wanna see me and u’ll understand that it’s absolutely truth.

Your desires would be about me!

My name is Teresita and I’m a very playful girl.

Let’s talk and there are no hesitations u will be thinking about me! Maybe we’ll go to restaurant, go traveling or have fun in my bedroom.

Let’s start satisfying ur fantasies together, darling!

And now for some ‘late summer’ vegetables…

Little reasons to be cheerful.

Sweetpea.

Adding a little bit of colour to the plot. Next year I will add more, especially plants that deter slugs. A flower fortress!

Banana Shallots.

These shallots may not look like bananas, but they sure can make your eyes water, unlike bananas.

Mixed Garlic.

Excellent crop of garlic this year! A small, smelly triumph.

Fennel.

This is my first time growing fennel. It’s a bit diminutive, but tastes great. Looks a little exotic too!

Courgettes.

After a false start, it appears I may get a crop of courgettes after all. Very exciting altogether!

Carrots and Charlotte Potatoes.

This has been a poor year for my potatoes and carrots. The potatoes are ‘scabby’ in more ways than one, and have suffered a bout of blight to boot. The carrot tops and seedlings have been devoured by birds and slugs. Only a few have survived.

It’s a bit sketchy.

The plot thickens.

Just looked through my seed packets and decided roughly what’s going where at the allotment. I hope to have some potatoe bags dotted around the plot as well. Thinking of giving sweet potatoes a bash this year too. Vegetables I am trying for the first time are broad beans, butternut squash and spinach. Because of past failures, leeks and celery are only maybes for this year. I may grow lettuce, salad leaves, spring onions and herbs in the garden at home. Oh yeah, and I might try growing mushrooms in coffee grounds… It’s all a bit sketchy!
