Thanks, Chica! They are crows that gather near the allotment every evening to roost. On this occasion they went for a quick runaround before settling down for the night. You know it is nearly time to go home when you see them flying in, in pairs, from all directions.
Brilliant shots! Murder of crows seems an appropriate description doesn’t it and this one looks most impressive. I can hear them just by looking at the photos. I have seen the murmuration of starlings at Aberystwyth pier but never a murder of crows.
They were just flying around before settling down to roost on some nearby trees! I’m not sure how often they do this – last night they just went straight to roost! Maybe the moon has something to do with it?
I love this photo and would like to use it as desktop/screen saver on my newly acquired laptop (once I have worked out how to convert myself from microsoft to apple)!
Beautiful shots, really wonderful. What were they…starlings, crows? Hope they didn´t get any of your seedlings!

Thanks. They are a noisy lot! I have never seen a murmuration, it is on my list of things to do before the crows finish me off!
the collective noun is fabulous isn’t it and you did well to capture them!
Yeah, it’s great! I went up this evening hoping to see another murder, but they just went straight to roost!
Glorious mystery. Where are they going? I want to know.

They must have been dancing, Crows love to play. Love that moon!
You could be right… maybe they go dancing once a week!
Great pics… And inventive title!
Thanks, Hook! I’m very proud of the title!
